Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa is to hoist South Asia’s largest flag at Wahgah border at 12:00 AM on Monday to kickoff Pakistan’s 70th Independence Day celebrations.

Pakistan is to celebrate 70th Independence Day celebrations on August 14 with a leading ceremony in capital Islamabad which is to be participated by the state executive Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and chiefs of all armed forces among others.

To kick-start the celebrations, the army chief is to hoist the largest flag in the region at midnight tonight at one of the territorial borders with India.

14th of August marks as Independence Day for Pakistan in observance to which authorities decided to hoist 400’ft tall flag at Wagah Border.

COAS Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa will inaugurate the flag ceremony on 14th of August.

Indian forces placed 350’ft tall flag that got brutally damaged with strong blowing wind.
