After a long wait, Barcelona and Napoli will finally contest their Champions League last-16 tie on Saturday at 8 pm.
Barcelona holds the slight advantage going into the second leg after the 1-1 draw in Naples in February, with Antoine Griezmann canceling out Dries Mertens’ opener.
Since then, Barcelona has faced the frustration of losing the 2019/20 La Liga title race to bitter rivals Real Madrid after a poor return to action in June.
Napoli also had disappointment in the league, finishing seventh in Serie A, though they secured a Europa League spot thanks to their Coppa Italia win in June.
There are more players than Lionel Messi at Barcelona, but the Argentinian is once again dominating the narrative as the club look to reach another Champions League quarter-final.
Gennaro Gattuso’s men will also likely be the more match-fit of the two seasons having only finished Serie A last weekend, while Barcelona has been out of competitive action since mid-July.
Speaking after Real Madrid confirmed the La Liga title in July coupled with a Barcelona defeat to Osasuna, Messi admitted Setien‘s would not get past Napoli if they do not improve on their post-break performances.
But who will come out on top, and set up a quarter-final tie against Bayern Munich or Chelsea?
