Two-time Olympic champion Brazil will face the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) in the fourth and final quarterfinals of women’s volleyball at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. While Brazil topped Group A with a record of one cent percent, the ROC only managed to squeeze as the fourth team from Group B to qualify for the knockout phase.

Brazil is the only team in the two groups that has not lost a single game. They secured a sweeping 3-0 victory over South Korea, Kenya and Japan and only dropped one set against Serbia. The only match in which Brazil struggled and even lost a point was against the Dominican Republic, where it needed the fifth set to secure a 3-2 victory. Brazil is ready to regain Olympic gold after the shocking result of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where they did not even manage to get on the podium.
On the other hand, the ROC has skyrocketed so far. While they posted a morale boost, 3-0 victories over Argentina and the United States, they outscored China 3-2. The ROC lost the other two games, one 2-3 to Turkey and another 0-3 to Italy. As a result, they finished with 9 points from 5 games in the preliminary stage.
