Ruqia Hassan was reportedly killed in September, but activists say ISIS hijacked her social media accounts and used them to claim she was alive. A member of the activist group Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently said that before her death.
Female journalist Ruqia Hassan, who wrote under the pen name Nissan Ibrahim was executed in September of last year by Islamic State militants.
ISIS has murdered a female journalist after accusing her of being a spy, activists have confirmed.
Ruqia Hassan often posted information about the daily lives of residents living under ISIS in its Syrian stronghold of Raqqa.
 Although the 30 year-old female journalist, was executed in September, news of her death broke recently. She wrote about life in the Syrian city of Raqqa, which was often the bedrock of conflict between Islamic State, the Free Syrian Army and the Coalition forces.
Activists confirmed that Ruqia had been executed by IS militants ever since the banned outfit made claims this week on social media that she was alive.
She was held by Islamic State militants in August last year on charges that she was in contact with members of the Free Syrian Army, which the IS consider as opponents, rivals and traitors.
