Unofficial results from the 212 wards have been announced in 42 cantonment board elections in Pakistan, Sial News reported.
Voting for the election of the cantonment boards had begun Sunday at 8:00 a.m. in the morning and concluded at 5:00 p.m. At least 1,560 candidates from various political parties were contested in the elections, along with independent candidates.
According to unofficial results from 212 wards, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf emerged as the winner with 60 seats, while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secured 59 seats. Independents remained in third place with 55 seats.
The Pakistan People’s Party could secure 17 seats. The Muttahida Qaumi-Pakistan Movement (MQM-P) won 10 seats and Jamaat-e-Islami won seven seats. The National Awami Party (ANP) and the Balochistan Awami Party won two seats each.
PML-N won the cantonment board elections in most Punjab cities, including Lahore and Rawalpindi. The ruling PTI also suffered a surprise defeat in Multan. However, PTI emerged as the largest party in Karachi.
PUNJAB
Lahore Cantonment
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) emerged victorious on six out of 10 seats from Lahore Cantonment. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf grabbed three seats while one seat was won by Independent candidate.
Walton Cantt
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) completed a clean sweep in cantonment boards election from Walton Cantt and won nine seats. Election on one seat was postponed due to death of a candidate.
Rawalpindi Cantonment Board
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won seven out of nine seat in polls in Rawalpindi Cantonment Board. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf failed to win a single seat in Rawalpindi Cantonment Board elections. Two seats were won by independent candidates.
Chaklala Cantt
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) also emerged leading political party from Chaklala Cantt, winning five of the 10 seats. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami got two seats each while one seat was won by independent candidate.
Wah Cantt
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secured eight out of 10 seats in cantonment boards election in Wah Cantt. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf managed to win on two seats.
Texila
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won three seats in Texila while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf got two seats.
Murree
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won one seat each in cantonment boards election in Murree.
Attock
Independent candidates grabbed both seats in cantonment boards election from Attock.
Sanjwal
Both seats in cantonment boards election from Sanjwal were won by idependent candidates.
Kamra Cantt
Independent candidates emerged victorious in cantonment boards election held on one seat in Camra Cantt.
Multan Cantonment
Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf suffered an upset defeat and failed to win a single seat in cantonment boards election in Multan. Independent candidates won nine seats while PML-N grabbed one seat.
Sialkot
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) grabbed three out of five seats in Sialkot. Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won two seats.
Gujranwala
Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf emerged victorious on six out of 10 seats in Gujranwala. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) got two seats while two seats were won by independent candidates.
Mangla
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secured one seat in cantonment boards election in Mangla. One seat was won by independent candidate.
Jhelum
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won both the seats in cantonment boards election in Jhelum.
Kharian
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf also won both seats in Kharian.
Sargodha
Five seats were won by independent candidates in cantonment boards election in Sargodha. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf secured three seats while PML-N got two seats.
Okara
Independent candidates emerged victorious on four out of five seats in Okara. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf got one seat.

Faisal Cantonment
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) emerged victorious at three seats of Faisal Cantonment. Jamaat-e-Islami secured one seat while one seat was won by an independent candidate.
Malir Cantt
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won four seats in Malir Cantt. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamaat-e-Islami got two seats each while one seat was won by independent.
Karachi Cantt
Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) grabbed two seats in cantonment boards election in Karachi Cantt while two seats were won by independent candidats.
Korangi Cantonment
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won two out of five seats in cantonment boards election in Korangi Cantonment while PTI, PPP and MQM-P secured one seat each.
Manora Cantonment
Pakistan People’s Party won both the seats in cantonment boards election in Manora Cantonment.
Hyderabad
Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) emerged as the single largest party in cantonment boards election after winning seven seats. Pakistan People’s Party won three seats.
Pano Aqil
Independent candidate won the cantonment boards election held on the single seat from Pano Aqil.
KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA
Peshawar
Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf suffered an upset in cantonment boards election in Peshawar and grabbed only one seat. Pakistan People’s Party managed to win two seats while Awami National Party (ANP) got one seat. One seat was won by independent candidate.
Abbottabad
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf emerged victorious on four out of 10 seats in Abbottabad. PML-N won three seats and Pakistan People’s Party got one seat. Two seats were won by Independent candidates.
Havailian
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) got one seat each in Havailian.
Kohat
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf secured one seat in cantonment boards election in Kohat while independent candidates won two seats.
Bannu
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf managed to win one seat in Bannu while independent candidate also won one seat.
Dera Ismail Khan
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won both the seats in cantonment boards election in Dera Ismail Khan.
Mardan
Awami National Party grabbed one seat in cantonment boards election in Mardan. One seat was won by independent candidate.
Nowshera
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won two seats in cantonment boards election in Nowshera while two seats were grabbed by independent candidates.
Chirat
Both the seats in cantonment boards election in Chirat were won by the independent candidates.
BALOCHISTAN
Quetta
Independent candidates won three seats in cantonment boards election in Quetta while two seats were grabbed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Zhob Cantonment
Both the seats in cantonment boards election in Zhob Cantonment were secured by Balochistan Awami Party.
Loralai
Independent candidates won both the seats in cantonment boards election in Loralai.
219 wards formed in 42 cantonment boards
According to the details, 219 wards have been formed in 42 cantonment boards across the country, and the vote was carried out in just 203 seats, while the elections were postponed by 6 seats.
Candidates for seven seats were elected unopposed and five independent candidates were also elected unopposed.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) reached an agreement in the cantonment of Galiyat Kalabagh after which one candidate from each party was elected unopposed.
Up to 1,550 candidates compete in the elections of the local body of the cantonment board, of which the PTI presented the largest number of 180 candidates, while the PML-N presented 143 candidates and 112 PPP candidates are contesting the elections.

At the end of the voting, the presiding officers will announce the results at the voting station immediately after the count, while the tellers will announce the preliminary results immediately after the completion of the results for each district.
All election agents must obtain a copy of the result from the President. All election agents or candidates must also obtain a copy of the preliminary result from the appropriate Returning Officer.
Violations
Meanwhile, a fight broke out in room 4 of Multan after male PTI workers tried to enter the women’s electoral college. The voting process was affected by the confrontation.
The returning officer in Karachi carried out an action and arrested two fake electoral officers from ward 4. The suspects were present inside the women’s polling station without authentic documents.
Following the violations, PPP has written a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the continued breach of the rules in the Cantonment Board Elections. PTI workers have violated the code of conduct in Karachi polling stations, the letter read.
In addition, he demanded that the commission take note of the members of the PTI assembly for interfering in the voting process.
Security arrangements
The ECP established complaint centers to monitring the cantonment board election process in all provincial headquarters and Islambad. Citizens can access the center in Islamabad at the phone numbers: 051-9204403 and 051-9204402.
Provincial governments have been ordered to install CCTV cameras in the most sensitive polling stations.
According to the ECP spokesperson, police officers have been deployed to polling stations to ensure public order, while Rangers and FC have also been deployed outside of polling stations.
