IPL 2020 Winners: A ruthless Mumbai Indians won an unprecedented fifth title in the Indian Premier League as the Delhi Capitals finished second, despite all their efforts and ambitions, after losing five wickets here on Tuesday.
Captain Rohit Sharma led the front with a 51-ball 68 as MI chased 157 runs for 18.4 overs after Trent Bult (3/30) reduced the DC to three to 22, with an excellent quick display Bowling.
Previously, Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten fifty lifted Delhi Capitals to 156 for seven after the defending champions blocked them with all kinds of troubles in the lucrative 13th edition of the event.
DC decided to stick around after winning the toss, jumping 22 to three in fourth place before the duo of Iyer (65 of 50 balls) and Rishabh Pant (56 of 38 balls) added 96 runs for the fourth wicket to control your team to safety.
Pant hit four boundaries and two sixes on their way to the first fifty of the season, while Iyer hit six fours and two sixes.
Mumbai Indians started off the best it could with Trent Bult, who earned Marcus Stoinis a place and ended with the final first delivery.
Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan were dismissed quickly and the Capitals soon found themselves in sporting trouble.

Rohit Sharma (received a check of INR 20,00,00,000): I am happy about many things all season long. In the beginning, we said we needed a winning habit. We couldn’t ask for more, to be precise, money from Ball 1 and we never looked back and now we are IPL 2020 Winners.
Kieran Pollard: Such a feeling, it means a lot. The fifth trophy. We have been here for 11 years. The number of trophies, the number of talents it has, it can be said that MI is the best team in the T20.

Ricky Ponting: MI is the best team, they beat us 4 times. It’s a bit disappointing as a coach, but in the end I’m very proud of the work the players have done. Ayer is a brilliant player, captain and man. I think we have the youngest team in the tournament and I am very proud of them.
Shreyas Iyer (collect check for INR 12,50,00,000): IPL continues to surprise you. It’s one of the toughest leagues to play. I was devastated to be a part of it, and I am very proud of my son. The way they play to reach the final is not easy. Winning the IPL would be better, but we will make sure we get the trophy next year.
