PTA Block Roaming Service on Afghan SIMs
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to suspend roaming services on Afghan Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs) in Pakistan.

According to PM House spokesperson, the directives were issued on the request of law enforcement agencies.

The law enforcement agencies had informed the government that Afghan SIMs were being openly used by the terrorists and other criminal elements.

Meanwhile, PM Nawaz asked PTA to ensure implementation of the order within next few days.

The prime minister said this action will help curb communication between the terrorists and it will also reduce other crimes like kidnapping for ransom.
