Turkey (FIFA #36) lead European Championship Qualifiers (ECQ) Group H due a superior H2H with France. Each of their five wins this ECQ campaign have come with a clean sheet, which has also been the case in their previous four ECQ wins.
Playing at home, Turkey are unbeaten in seven ECQ fixtures (W6, D1), including three this campaign. The Turks usually close the games out early, with five of their seven ECQ home goals scored within the hour mark. Furthermore, 75% of the total ECQ match goals involving Turkey (12 of 16) have been netted before the hour mark.
In contrast, Albania have conceded seven of their nine ECQ goals before the hour mark. However, the visiting attack comes to life only in the later stages with 70% of their ECQ goals scored after the hour (seven of ten)
Albania have been alternating between wins and losses in their last eight ECQ fixtures, including six this campaign (W3, L3). Although they have lost their last two ECQ away games, those remain their only losses in seven ECQ road trips (W4, D1, L2). Albania travel to this ECQ fixture having seen at least one clean sheet in eight of their last ten ECQ away matches, including two this campaign.
Players to watch: Cenk Tosun has netted three of his four ECQ goals after the half-hour mark, giving or extending Turkey’s lead every time. Meanwhile, Albania’s Sokol Çikalleshi has scored each of his three ECQ goals after the hour mark.
