Lionel Messi’s Argentina will look to book their place in the last 16 of the 2014 FIFA Word Cup when they face a resurgent Iran side on Saturday night in Belo Horizonte.
Argentina were far from their best in their opening match with Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were gifted an own goal three minutes into the match, and then got a much needed moment of brilliance from superstar Lionel Messi. They now face the task of breaking down the Iran defense which was successful in frustrating the Nigerians, holding them to a 0-0 draw.
Argentina, with an attack comprising of players like Lionel Messi, Angel di Maria, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain are being considered as strong candidates to lift the World Cup trophy. Tonight, they will need to produce a performance, that was missing in the first game, to show the other teams what they are capable of.
