Germany looked very impressive as they disposed of 10-man Portugal 4-0 in their opening Group G match.
Bayern Munich midfielder Thomas Mueller struck a hat-trick for Joachim Low’s team, while Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels was also on the scoresheet.
Germany were helped by the dismissal of Portuguese defender Pepe after an altercation with Mueller in the first half, but it was still an excellent start for the former world champions.
The result gave the Germans a flying start to their World Cup campaign, and they will be looking to make further progress at the expense of Ghana at the Estadio Castelao in Fortaleza.
The Black Stars, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back from the late defeat to the United States in their first game of the 2014 World Cup.
Ghana made the worst start possible as they conceded within the first 30 seconds of the game, with Clint Dempsey firing home for USMNT.
With eight minutes remaining, Andre Ayew appeared to have salvaged a point for the Africans, but John Brook claimed the points for USA in the 86th minute.
Ghana now have to earn at least four points from their games against Germany and Portugal to stand any chance of reaching the last 16.
