Burkina Faso beat Tunisia 1-0 in the quarter-finals to advance to the semi-finals. The only goal of the game was scored by Laurent Dengo Avatara striker just before the end of the first half.
Burkina Faso missed AFCON 2019, but before that they appeared in five consecutive tournaments, including second and third places in the event.
As for Senegal, the team beat Equatorial Guinea 3-1 in the final round. Alanyaspor striker Famara Diedhiou gave his side a 1-0 lead in the first half, but Equatorial Guinea leveled the score just after half-time. But Senegal won’t refuse, with Crystal Palace midfielder Cheikho Quetta and Watford winger Ismaila Sir scoring in the second half.
Senegal finished second in the 2019 edition. It was the first time since 2006 that they reached the semi-finals, when they finished fourth.
