Several thousand Muslims in the country will sit for aitekaaf at various mosques tonight. All the major mosques have completed the registration process of the people who want to perform Itikaf, Sial News reported.
Thousands of Muslims would be gathering for the performance of Itikaf in all major cities of Sindh including Karachi. Special security measures are ensured at all mosques in the metropolis to avoid any untoward incident.
Prayers for country’s sovereignty and stability, elimination of terrorism and prosperity of Muslim Ummah will also be offered.
All the major mosques of Lahore including Badshahi mosque, Data Darbar Mosque and Jamia Masjid Al-Qudsia have completed the registration of those who wanted to perform itikaf.
Meanwhile Muslims Saudi Arabia, UAE and other gulf countries have already sat for aitekaaf today.
Arrangements at the holy Kaaba and Masjid-Nabvi for thousands of Muslims have been made by the Saudi government. To take care of the security of the pilgrims scores of security cameras and 25000 security officials have been stationed.
Aitekaaf, an arabic word, translates into taking a break. Devout Muslims all over the world try to spend the last ten days of Ramzan, in aitekaaf, away from the world and spending time to meditate.
