Peshawar skipper Zalmi Wahab Riaz and goalkeeper batsman Kamran Akmal will join their team’s training session today as they have completed their quarantine period, according to a statement released by the management on Saturday.
Wahab and Kamran had both tested positive for COVID-19, forcing them to miss Peshawar Zalmi’s opener of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) against Quetta Gladiators on Friday.
Both players will be in action during Zalmi’s training session, the statement adds.
In Wahab’s absence, versatile veteran Shoaib Malik led the Yellow Storm, inspiring them to a remarkable victory after his heroic run in which he teamed up with left-handed batsman Hussain Talat to go for a big 191.
Another Zalmi player, Hazratullah Zazai, had also tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the Gladiators game.
Next Sunday, Peshawar Zalmi will face Islamabad United in their second game of the PSL Seventh Edition at Karachi National Cricket Stadium.
